Applications

  • Aerial photography gimbals
  • Handheld stabilisers
  • Inspection camera mounts
  • Broadcast and film rigs

A gimbal bracket has two jobs: hold the camera exactly where the software expects it, and keep motor vibration out of the image. We hold bore alignment within 0.02 mm so the gimbal does not fight a mechanical offset, and we can machine damping pockets or leave material for your rubber isolators. Thin walls down to 1 mm are possible in 7075, which matters when every gram is payload you could be carrying instead.

Quality control

Every batch is checked on a coordinate measuring machine, with calipers, micrometers and gauge blocks on the shop floor. A dimensional report is available with each shipment and first-article inspection is free on series orders.

Competitive advantages

  • vs. Injection-moulded plastic mounts: 7075 aluminium holds sub-millimetre bore alignment that moulded parts drift out of over heat cycles
  • vs. Laser-cut sheet-metal brackets: Milled 7075 with 1 mm walls: stiffer and lighter than laser-cut 1.5 mm sheet without bending
  • vs. SLM/FDM 3D-printed brackets: Dense 7075-T6, no layer lines or powder porosity; damping pockets CNC-machined to Ra 0.8
  • vs. Low-cost CNC shops without ISO process: Bore alignment within 0.02 mm, damping and isolator mounting designed into one fixture

Frequently asked questions

What tolerances can you hold?

Standard machining tolerance is ±0.05 mm, and ±0.01 mm on features you mark as critical. Locating bores can be held to H7. Tell us which dimensions actually matter — over-tolerancing is the fastest way to raise cost without improving the part.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No. We machine one piece as readily as one thousand. Unit price improves noticeably at 50, 200 and 1,000 pieces because setup and programming amortise, and we use the same programme and fixtures from prototype through to series.

How long does a quote take, and what about lead time?

Quotes are returned within 24 working hours, usually the same day for simple parts. Production lead time is typically 7–20 working days depending on complexity, material availability and finishing.
